Valve Exercising Planned for Tellbrook Road Area

The City of Las Cruces Water Section will exercise valves in the Tellbrook Road/Las Alturas Drive/Hunters Chase area in preparation of an altitude valve installation.

Residents in this area may experience discolored water between 9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18 to 1 a.m. on Thursday, October 19. Customers in the area are expected to have water.

City crews will hang door notices for the affected area.

Residents may notice discolored water due to iron and manganese. Although the water is safe to drink, City officials recommend waiting to wash laundry until after the water becomes clear.

The discoloration should disappear within 24-hours. If it does not, residents should flush outside and/or cold-water faucets in the house for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the City at 526-0500 for assistance.
