Barstow man arrested after holding his girlfriend at gunpoint and refusing to let her leave

LOCATION: 34000 block of Birch Road, Lenwood
SUSPECT: Roy Watson, Jr., 34 years old, resident of Barstow
VICTIM: Confidential female
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, October 18, 2017, deputies from the Barstow Sheriff's Station responded to a residence located in the 34000 block of Birch Road in Lenwood after they were notified Roy Watson Jr. held his girlfriend at gunpoint and refused to let her leave. The victim was able to escape from the residence and call a friend, who then called 911. Deputies contacted Watson at his residence where he was taken into custody without incident. Deputies authored, and subsequently served a search warrant for Watson's residence. During the service of the warrant, deputies located the black semi-automatic handgun used during the commission of the crime, as well as an AR-15 style rifle and a pump-action .12 guage shotgun.
Roy Watson Jr. was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for False Imprisonment and Assault with a Firearm. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
