Residents have been receiving phone calls from people stating that they work at the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department. The calls are in regards to warrants out for peoples’ arrest for not responding to summonses for jury duty.

Please be advised, these phone calls are fraudulent in nature and the warrants that they are talking about do not exist.

If you receive a phone call of this nature do not send any money and do not offer any personal information. Document the date, time, and phone number received and call this department immediately.
