On 1/28/2017 at approximately 0325 hours, Chula Vista Police Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 200 block of Kennedy Street in Chula Vista. Officers arrived on scene at approximately 0330 hours and located a male (40) with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and a second male (40) with serious facial injuries. Both individuals were transported by paramedics for medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries. Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears an altercation began in an apartment before spilling out into a parking lot, at which time the victim was shot. No one is in custody at this time and the investigation is ongoing. The relationship between the two injured has yet to be determined. The investigation is being turned over to the Chula Vista Police Department’s Crimes of Violence Unit.
