Alert

Flash Flood Watch & Wind Advisory in effect from this evening until Monday Afternoon.

There are two (2) Weather Hazards in this post.....

Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from 8 pm this evening through Monday afternoon and a Wind Advisory remains in effect from midnight tonight to 11 am Monday. Winds southeast 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

Heavy rainfall ranging from 1 to 3 inches with higher amounts possible in the foothills and mountain areas. Excessive rainfall could lead to localized flash flooding along with a chance of small stream flooding. Poor drainage areas that may perhaps be clogged with fallen leaves could lead to flooding while some smaller rivers may exceed flood stage due to heavy rains on recently damp soils.

Winds will increase significantly late this evening and continue into early Monday.

Instructions:

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation and you should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued. Do not drive through flooded areas or areas that appear to have running water.

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 35 mph or wind gusts up to 57 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution when driving.

Strong winds may result in downed branches and power lines. Significant power outages are possible and travel will be difficult especially for high profile vehicles. Do not approach downed power/utility lines and contact your local fire department or power company if you find any. If you run a generator, please remember to make sure that it is properly vented and away from any structure.
