Good Tuesday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 10/27/17, through Monday, 10/30/17.
10/27/17
-100 blk Ellwood, Ropesville: Assault. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a reported assault. Some of the parties had left the scene prior to arrival. An investigation was completed, and multiple statements were collected from witnesses. The matter is under investigation. One individual was treated for minor injuries.
-200 blk E. 9th St, Anton: Theft. A deputy took a report regarding a theft of a television from a residence. The complainant advised he knew the individual. A report was taken and the matter is being investigated.
-Hwy 114 at FM 168, Smyer: Reckless Driver. A deputy responded to a call of a reckless driver in the area. The area was searched and the vehicle was not located.
-Hwy 114 at FM 168, Smyer: Reckless Driver. A deputy was dispatched to locate a possible reckless driver traveling westbound from Smyer. The vehicle described to deputies was not located.
-Hwy 114 at FM 168, Smyer: Disabled Vehicle. While in the area a deputy stopped to check on a motorist in the area. The vehicle had a tire blow out, and assistance was on the way with a new tire.
-Hwy 114 at FM 2378, Smyer: Reckless Driver. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a possible reckless driver in the area. While en route, the deputy was notified the vehicle turned around and went back into Lubbock County.
10/28/17
-100 blk Lawrence, Anton: Alarm. A deputy was dispatched to an alarm at a building in the area. The building was found to be secure and no evidence of attempted entry.
-400 blk Lincoln, Smyer: Cruelty to Livestock. A deputy was notified of individuals on the property causing injury to livestock animals. The individuals were identified, and later released. The matter is under investigation.
-Hwy 114 at FM 168, Smyer: Disabled Vehicle. A deputy stopped and checked on a motorist in the area. The vehicle overheated and assistance was on the way.
-Hwy 114 at Owl Rd, Smyer: Assist Fire Department. A deputy was requested to assist with traffic control at the intersection. Congestion was clear when the deputy arrived.
10/29/17
-Leon Rd at East Ellis, Smyer: Abandoned Vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to check on a vehicle in the area. On arrival it appeared a vehicle crash had occurred and Troopers were notified. DPS Troopers took a report and the vehicle was towed from the area.
-100 blk Mandy Circle, Opdyke West: Disturbance. A deputy responded to a call of a reported disturbance in the area. It was determined to be a verbal disturbance and no offenses were reported to deputies. Parties were separated.
-1800 blk Hwy 385, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate an individual riding a bicycle in the area taking pictures. The area was checked and the individual was not located. The individual was described as wearing all black. No other descriptions were given. Deputies will continue to patrol the area.
-Hwy 385 at Terry County line: Vehicle Crash. Deputies were dispatched to a major collision in the area. The crash was determined to be inside Terry County. Deputies assisted with traffic control on scene as needed. Troopers conducted the crash investigation.
-700 blk Moreno, Anton: Disturbance. A deputy was dispatched to a disturbance involving a juvenile at a residence. The matter was a disturbance between parents and a juvenile and no offenses were reported.
-500 blk W. Ellwood, Anton: Shots Fired. A deputy responded to a report of shots being fired in the area. Deputies searched the area and located no one who heard the shots. No other reports were received. The area was searched and no one was located.
-FM 301 at FM 303, Sundown: Civil Issue. A deputy met with a complainant regarding a civil matter over property. The matter was determined to be civil and remedies were advised to the complainant.
-5200 blk FM 2646, Levelland: Check Welfare. A deputy was requested to check the welfare of a juvenile in the residence. The caller reported a possible injury. The juvenile was located and the deputies observed no signs of injury as reported. No offenses were observed or reported.
-US 62/82 at FM 41, Ropesville: Reckless Driver. A deputy was notified of a reckless driver headed toward Lubbock along the highway. The vehicle was not located and information was passed on to Lubbock County.
10/30/17
-US 62/82 at Rabbit Rd, Ropesville: Abandoned Vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to check status on a vehicle parked in the area. The vehicle was off the roadway and had been tagged to be towed.
-1400 blk Monaco Rd, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. A deputy responded to a call of a crash in the area after a driver hit a cow. The scene was investigated and the cow was removed by the owner.
-Hwy 114 at Cochran County line: Reckless Driver. A deputy was notified of a reckless driver headed towards Cochran County. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.
-FM 3261 at Commerce Ln, Levelland: Traffic Complaint. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a truck blocking the intersection. The driver was located and the vehicle was moved.
-2400 blk Mockingbird Ln, Levelland: Animal Complaint. Deputies were notified of a loose dog in the area. The complainant was advised of current leash laws. The dog was not reportedly aggressive, but the complainant was advised if the dog exhibited any aggression to notify the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies also conducted patrols throughout the county, close patrols/vacation watches, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.
