On 10/31/17 at 2119 Hrs WCPD, CHP, and Contra Costa Fire personnel responded to a rollover traffic collision on Treat Blvd near Sheppard Rd. Upon arrival one driver of a Toyota SUV was found to have moderate injuries while the driver of a Ford sedan was trapped and ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene by CFD paramedics. The identity of the deceased driver is withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Multiple witnesses as well as corroborating physical evidence indicate the Ford sedan was travelling WB Treat Blvd at a high rate of speed before it lost control, rolled, and entered the opposite lanes of traffic.

The final cause of the collision will be determined after toxicology by the Coroner’s office is complete to determine if alcohol or drugs played a part. Walnut Creek PD traffic investigators will also be conducting further investigation to identify any other factors in this collision.
