Time Change

HARRISBURG, ILL. – This weekend ends Daylight Saving Time or DST. In 2007, DST was amended to begin on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November.

Residents are reminded to set their clocks back one hour on Sunday Morning at 2 a.m., or Fall Back one hour. Also residents are asked to change the batteries in their: Smoke Detectors,Carbon Monoxide Detectors and their Weather Radios. “By changing the batteries in smoke detectors, weather radios and carbon monoxide detectors, when we change the clock twice a year, we assure that fresh batteries are in them for safe operation throughout the year,” said Sheriff Keith Brown.

Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March11, 2018 , when we will spring forward one hour.
