Good Wednesday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Tuesday, 11/7/17.

-Hwy 114 near Veretto Rd, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. A deputy was dispatched to check the area for a female that was walking along the roadway in the area. The area was checked and the individual was not located.

-2500 blk Hwy 114, Levelland: Theft. A deputy responded to a reported theft of a trailer in the area. Also reported was a welder that had been on the trailer. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.

-6800 blk Hwy 114, Smyer: Theft. A deputy spoke with a complainant about a stolen vehicle. The complainant reported a dump truck was stolen from a property in the area. Information was collected for a report and the matter is under investigation.

-FM 41 at FM 303, Sundown: Vehicle Crash. A deputy was dispatched to a crash involving a deer. The deputy assisted until troopers arrived to investigate the crash.

-Sex Offender Compliance Checks: Deputies completed multiple compliance checks on sex offenders within the county. Those that were contacted were found to be in compliance as required by law.

Deputies also completed close patrols/vacation watches, investigative follow up activities, patrols throughout the county, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 11/8/17 at 0800 hours: 48 in Hockley County, 6 to be processed, 7 out of county.
