Good Friday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Thursday, 11/9/17.
-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Theft. A deputy met with a complainant regarding the theft of a dog. Information for a report was collected, and the dog was later recovered from an individual. A case has been prepared for filing.
-FM 597 at FM 1490, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. Deputies were notified of a vehicle crash in the area. Troopers arrived on scene to conduct the crash investigation.
-FM 300 at Drill Stem Rd, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. Deputies were dispatched to a vehicle crash in the area. Troopers arrived on scene to conduct the crash investigation and deputies assisted on scene.
-2500 blk Fisher Rd, Levelland: Stolen Vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to a report of suspicious activity in the area. Deputies began an investigation after being notified of another incident approximately a mile away from the original location involving a vehicle crash. Two vehicles were located and both had previously been reported stolen out of different counties. Both vehicles were confirmed stolen and recovered. Reports related to the incidents and possible local charges are pending.
-Nightingale Rd at Filly Rd, Smyer: Shots Fired. Deputies responded to a call of shots being fired in the area. The area was searched and no one was located. No further calls were received.
-Hwy 114 at FM 2646, Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to a reported vehicle crash in the area. Troopers arrived on scene to conduct crash investigation.
Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols throughout the county, investigative follow up activities, and civil process service.
Jail population as of 11/10/17 at 0800 hours: 50 in Hockley County, 1 to be processed, 7 out of county.
