With the recent hurricane, we are seeing incidents where criminals are posing as contractors going onto active work sites or soliciting door to door in affected areas with the intent of finding homes under construction that are unoccupied and are easy targets for property theft. Residents and neighbors are advised to be aware of this potential and report any suspicious activity or persons to our dispatch for a deputy to respond.
