Modesto, CA - A male driver was fatally injured following a solo vehicle high speed collision.
Early this morning, officers responded to an injury collision on Standiford Avenue, east of Tully Road. When they arrived, they found a wrecked 1998 Toyota Camry and citizens performing CPR on a male driver involved in the collision. The male driver was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. There were no other vehicles involved and no passengers were in the Toyota Camry.
Initial reports suggest that the Toyota was traveling eastbound on Standiford Avenue at a high rate of speed. The driver crossed Tully Road and lost control of his vehicle, colliding with a large power pole.
The driver has been identified as 25-year-old Modesto resident Alvin Kittiphane. Speed was a factor in this collision. It is not yet known if drugs or alcohol played a part in the collision.
As a standard procedure, a comprehensive collision investigation has begun and is in the early stages. Officers are encouraging individuals who may have witnessed the collision to contact Officer Daniel Phillips at [email protected]. You can also provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 209-521-4636.
