On Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at approximately 1:00 P.M., Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies assigned to Industry Station’s Special Assignment Operations Team utilized investigative resources that led investigators to an illegal marijuana dispensary that professed itself to be operating as “The Citadel Church of La Puente.”
Investigators first received complaints of the “church” prompting an approximate three week investigation into the possible illegal operation of narcotics, whereas a surveillance operation was conducted and subsequent warrant was obtained and served in the “church” located on the 15500 block of Amar Road in La Puente.
Discovered at the “church” was a dispensary selling marijuana, concentrated cannabis such as marijuana wax, various marijuana packaging and edibles such as the likes of chocolate bars.
Approximately four to five pounds of marijuana product, small three digit scale and surveillance equipment was also seized from the dispensary which has a license issued by the city of La Puente to repair cell phones.
A male, Black adult and known gang member, as well as a female, Asian adult, were arrested at the scene and subsequently cited and released. One male, White adult was detained, identified and also released.
Along with the $295 in U.S. currency seized at the location, the combined street value of the finished product for sale was estimated to be between $20,000 and $30,000.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
