Hiram PD collecting Chrismas ornaments for young resident with terminal illness.
Hiram Community, let's step up and make this young mans dream come true. Hiram PD will be collecting ornaments through the end of November and will deliver them to Brantley at the beginning of December. If you would like to donate, you can drop ornaments off to the Hiram PD lobby, Monday through Friday, 8a-5p.
A little boy only wants one thing this holiday season: to live to see Christmas day this year.
Six-year-old Brantley Dobbs from Hiram, Ga. has an inoperable tumor on his brain stem. Most kids who have this diagnosis live nine to 12 months.
Brantley is on month 20, and he wants to at least be able to celebrate the holidays one last time.
And now, the kindness of strangers from around the world is helping light his past to Christmas one ornament at a time.
It may not be Thanksgiving yet, but inside the Dobbs home, Christmas is in full swing, and Brantley couldn't be more excited.
It's a welcome distraction from the family's challenges of home hospice care.
Every day Brantley gets to open presents from all over the world filled with special Christmas ornaments.
It all started when a friend of the family posted on social media that Brantley loves the holiday, and gifts started pouring in.
"In an hour, she had 200 comments," said Jamie Dobbs, Brantley's mom.
Each day ornaments arrive from around the world, reminding the little fighter that he's loved and supported, and giving his family Christmas memories they'll cherish for a lifetime.
