At approximately 3AM the Santa Maria Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire in a single unit of a multi unit residential building. An aggressive attack contained the fire within 15 minutes. A thorough search of the building resulted in no fatalities or injuries. Three Engine Companies, one Truck Company, and one Battalion Chief responded to the incident. Santa Maria Police provided traffic control and security at the scene, while AMR provided a medical standby. The gas company responded to the scene to secure utilities. Santa Maria Fire Department’s Fire Marshal responded to perform the investigation. There was extensive smoke and fire damage to a single unit while the other units in the building were not involved in the fire.
