Major Traffic Collision Incident
On November 18, 2017, at approximately 8:45 a.m., officers from the Torrance Police Department responded to major traffic collision in the 4800 block of Sepulveda Blvd.
On arrival, officers discovered that a gold Ford Van driven by a 49-year-old female, traveling eastbound on Sepulveda Blvd. had collided with a white Toyota Camry driven by a 42-year old female, traveling westbound on Sepulveda Blvd. The 49-year-old sole occupant of the Ford Van sustained major injuries and was treated by the Torrance Fire Department personnel and was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed of her injuries. The female driver of the Toyota Camry sustained minor injuries and was treated by the Torrance Fire Department personnel and was being treated at a local hospital.
Sepulveda Blvd. between the streets of Reynolds Avenue and Ellinwood Avenue were closed for approximately three hours during the investigation.
This collision is being investigated by the Torrance Police Department’s Traffic Division under the command of Acting Captain Steven Jenkinson, Commander of the Special Operations Bureau.
