Modesto Police Investigating Homicide in Northeast Modesto

Modesto, CA – A 21-year-old male was fatally wounded after a shooting in northeast Modesto Tuesday evening.
At approximately 8:45 PM, officers were called to the area of Ustach Park at the intersection of Hillglen Ave and Bear Cub Lane to the report of a subject shot. Officers arrived in the area and found a 21-year-old male in the roadway suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Bystanders at the scene were attempting life saving measures, and officers took over CPR.
The male was eventually transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Modesto Police detectives along with crime scene investigators were called to the scene and are in the early stages of piecing together what led up to the shooting. The suspect(s) have not been identified and a motive for the shooting has not been determined.
