Reminder: Muskegon's Winter Parking Ban will be in effect from December 15, through the last day of February.
The Muskegon Public Safety Office would like to remind everyone that in accordance with City Ordinance the Winter Parking Ban will be in effect from December 15, through the last day of February. During that time, parking is not allowed on any street between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
As a courtesy, officers will be issuing red "Warning" tags through the holiday season.
While the Winter Parking Ban is in effect, vehicles can be legally parked on the terrace (i.e., the area between the street and sidewalk).
Also, in cases of extreme weather events City officials may declare a Snow Emergency. Within six hours of the declaration of the snow emergency, all motor vehicles, or
trailers, must be removed from all city streets so they can be cleared of snow and ice.
The Muskegon Public Safety Office would like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season. Please remember that winter weather and hazardous conditions can create a greater demand for emergency services. Please assist us in keeping the roadways clear for safer travel.
