Three subjects arrested for burglarizing a local business and stealing thousands of dollars worth of property

SUSPECT(S): Michael Chalfant, 29-year-old resident of Twin Peaks
Casey Chalfant, 26-year-old resident of Twin Peaks
Matthew Snyder, 23-year-old resident of Twin Peaks
SUMMARY:
On Saturday, November 18, 2017, deputies from the Twin Peaks station were dispatched to a commercial burglary report in the community of Blue Jay. The reporting party stated at approximately 3:30 am, a masked subject entered the business and stole thousands of dollars worth of prescription glasses, sunglasses, contact lenses, contact solution and approximately $1,000 cash. The incident was captured on video surveillance.
Deputies from the Twin Peaks Station Multiple Enforcement Team and station detectives took over the investigation. MET deputies and detectives developed a pool of suspects based on video surveillance and statements. On November 20, 2017, deputies conducted a search of Michael and Casey Chalfant’s residence in the community of Twin Peaks. While searching the residence, deputies located items stolen from the commercial burglary along with other reported stolen property from other burglaries in the area. Michael Chalfant was contacted at the residence and arrested.
On November 21, 2017, MET deputies and station detectives served a search warrant at Matthew Snyder’s residence located in the community of Twin Peaks. During the service of the search warrant, deputies and detectives located stolen property from the commercial burglary along with other reported stolen property from other burglaries in the area. Casey Chalfant and Matthew Snyder were both contacted at the residence and arrested.
Michael Chalfant, Casey Chalfant and Matthew Snyder were all arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center for violation of PC 459, burglary and PC 496(A), possession of stolen property. Michael is being held in lieu of $75,000 bond. Casey and Snyder are being held in lieu of $25,000 bond. The case will be submitted to the District Attorney’s office for review.
