Good Thursday evening! We hope everyone is enjoying a very safe Thanksgiving. The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Wednesday, 11/22/17.

-FM 303 at FM 597, Pep: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to the area regarding loose cattle. The owner was located and the cattle were secured.

-6800 blk Hwy 114, Smyer: Stolen Vehicle. A deputy was notified of a complainant reporting a stolen vehicle. Information was collected for a report and the investigation is ongoing into the incident.

-800 blk FM 168, Smyer: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to a report of loose livestock in the area. A DPS trooper was in the area and checked for loose livestock. None were located.

-100 blk Alaska Rd, Levelland: Assist Agency. Deputies were asked to attempt to locate an individual in the area related to a missing person from New Mexico. The individual was located and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Investigators are working with Hobbs Police Department on possible criminal charges related to the incident. More information will be available at a later time.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols throughout the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 11/23/17 at 1930 hours: 46 in Hockley County, 2 to be processed, 12 out of county.
