Residents along Spitz Avenue from the El Camino Real Road intersection to the 3 Crosses Avenue intersection and Scotland Court will experience a water outage from 11 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, to 3 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30. Adjacent areas may also be affected by the outage that is part of the state transportation department’s US 70/Three Crosses Project.

Once service is restored, residents may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, City officials recommend waiting to wash laundry until after the water becomes clear.

The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents should flush all faucets for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the Las Cruces Utilities at 575/526-0500 for assistance.
