Controlled Burn Scheduled November 28 Beginning 9am.... 
The NC Forest Service has planned a controlled burn in the Stone Mountain Farm area off of Old Fort Road tomorrow morning. Residents in the area can expect smoke conditions for most of the day. We apologize for the short notice however we were just informed today ourselves. This has been attempted several times in the past couple years with it being cancelled due to conditions. The fire departments typically do not participate in these unless they become uncontrolled. Broad River will have a couple personnel and a truck standing by near the burn in the event it becomes uncontrolled. Personnel may also have the UAV flying to monitor the lines. If you have any issues with this burn please contact the Forest Services office at 919-857-4801.
