TEST OF BURLINGTON PARKING BAN LIGHTS
Burlington Public Works Right of Way Department will be testing the Parking Ban Maintenance lights on Friday December 1, 2017 from 7:00am until 3:00pm. Vehicles will NOT have to be moved at this time. This is a test only. If you have any questions, please call Public Works Customer Service at 863-9094 x 3.
PARING BAN INFORMATION
When road conditions require or expected weather conditions may require streets be plowed the City of Burlington can declare a parking ban. When a ban has been declared all vehicles must be removed from all Burlington Streets between 10:00pm and 7:00am in the residential area and 12:00am to 6:00am in the metered areas. The ban includes all City Streets and surface parking lots.
A ban must be declared by 3:00pm to be effective that night. Upon a ban being declared the parking ban lights, located throughout the City and at the main entrances to the City will be activated. These lights will remain on while the ban is in effect. With the declaration of a parking ban email messages will also be sent to all subscribers to Nixle. Vehicles which remain on the street or surface parking lots will receive parking tickets ($125.00) and towed to another location. If your vehicle has been towed contact Parking Enforcement at (802) 540-2380 to find the location your vehicle was towed. When calling to get the location you should be ready to provide your vehicle license plate number.
Vehicles are ticketed and towed on all streets even if it appears your street has been cleaned. Do not park on your street until the parking ban lights have been turned off. Depending on the storm and road conditions some parking bans may last more than one night.
During a parking ban parking is available in the City of Burlington parking garages. Parking is free from 10:00pm to 8:00am. Please do not park on the top (roof) floor of the garages.
