A state prison inmate who was placed on escape status after failing to report to his work release jobsite today is back in custody.
Inmate Benjamin Johnson returned to the Yankton Community Work Center just before 7:00 p.m. Dec. 2.
Johnson left the Community Work Center earlier today to go to his work release job, but never reported to the jobsite.
