UPDATE: Fatal Traffic Collision Involving a Pedestrian. 
UPDATE: All lanes of traffic have been reopened.
On 12/3/17, at approximately 10:03 PM, the Chula Vista Police Department received several 911 calls reporting that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle on Main Street (3600 Block), Chula Vista, CA.
Officers arrived on scene and discovered that an adult female had been struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Main Street in the #1 lane.
The victim sustained traumatic injuries to her head and extremities. The victim would succumb to her injuries and pronounced deceased at the scene at 10:21 PM.
A witness to the collision saw the pedestrian standing in the roadway and away from any marked or unmarked crosswalk.
The cause of the collision is under investigation. The driver that struck the victim was not under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
The Chula Vista Police Traffic Division will be conducting the investigation.
