Attempted Sexual Assault in the 1200 Block of Foothill

On Monday December 4th, 2017 at approximately 11:30 pm, San Luis Obispo Police officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Foothill Blvd. to the report of a sexual assault in progress. The victim in this case is a twenty-two-year-old Cal-Poly student. When police arrived at the location, the suspect had already fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victim told officers that an unknown male subject tried to sexually assault her in her apartment just as she had stepped out of the shower. The victim in this case was not physically injured, and the suspect had left prior to completing a sexual assault.
The victim stated she did not know the suspect but described him as a light skinned Black or Hispanic male adult in his mid to late twenties. She stated he was about five feet nine to five feet ten inches tall with an average build, and possibly a shaved head. He was said to be wearing a white plaid shirt, black leather style jacket, black ski gloves, and blue jeans with tan stitching. The victim also described his shoes as white Converse.
San Luis Obispo Police Detectives are actively investigating this case. Anyone with information regarding this crime should contact the police department or Crime Stoppers. The police department would also like to remind the public to lock and secure the windows and doors to your homes, and report any suspicious activity in your neighborhoods.
