LA Co Firefighters, Sheriff's Deps, Police Agencies, Co Depts, Orgs & Volunteers Work Toward Containing #CreekFire
Los Angeles County and Local Firefighters, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies, Along with Other Police Agencies, County Departments, Organizations, and Volunteers Continue to Work Toward Containing the Fires and Returning Residents to the Their Homes
Los Angeles County and local fire department personnel are actively engaged in battling the co-burning Creek and Rye Fires.
More than 65 deputy personnel and support staff from nine Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department patrol stations are working to evacuate residents, protect life and property, assist with road closures, and keep the area accessible to firefighters. Deputies are also embedded in communities protecting areas which have been evacuated.
There are no known injuries of LASD personnel or residents.
We ask residents in affected areas who were not asked to evacuate, to remain vigilant and prepare for evacuations in the event they become necessary or for a prolonged period of time. Please prepare a go-bag containing:
• Identification
• Medication
• Food and water
• Important documents, such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc.
• Any emergency supplies
• A change of clothes
• Toiletries

Number of residents evacuated: Approximately 250,000
Mandatory evacuations/orders: Evacuation area is North of the 210 Freeway from Lowell Blvd to the East and Glenoaks Blvd off-ramp / Sombrero Canyon to the West. In the Shadow Hills area, evacuations have been ordered between the areas of Wentworth St to the North, Wheatland Ave to the West, and Sunland Blvd to the South. Evacuees will not be allowed back into the evacuation area until evacuation orders are lifted.

In regard to the animal evacuation centers, Pierce College and LA Equestrian is at capacity. Hansen Dam has a few stalls available and all other equestrian animals should be taken to the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds.
Over 400 LACoFD personnel still actively battling flames; remain heavily involved at #CreekFire
Approximately 40 LASD personnel are currently deployed for the #CreekFire
ROAD CLOSURES:
- 210 freeway Eastbound exits closed: Osbourne Ave, Wheatland Ave, Sunland Blvd, and La Tuna Canyon Road.
- 210 freeway Westbound exits closed: From Lowell Avenue to the 118 freeway.
*Keep in mind: Temperatures are cooler at night, therefore a more accurate assessment of the fires will occur in the morning*
#RyeFire:
Approximately 7,000 acres were burned and the area is 5% contained at this time.
If residents are asked to evacuate, they can seek shelter at:

Per Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel, residents of the Valencia Travel Village, located at 27946 Henry Mayo Drive, Castaic, may return to their homes. This will be residents with identification. Deputies will be checking identification to see if people traveling through the area reside in the above listed areas.
No live stock will be allowed back into the area for at least 24 hours after the population of residents.
No large vehicles, such as trailers, RV’s, horse trailers or other oversized vehicle will be allowed into the area. Fire officials still have large vehicles traveling along those streets and require adequate space to travel.
There are no reports of road closures at this time.
