Road Rage Incident Results In Hit and Run Traffic Collision In Northeast Area.
The Los Angeles Police Department Central Traffic Detectives is seeking the public’s assistance, in identifying a vehicle and driver, involved in a road rage incident in Los Feliz Area that resulted in 5-severe injuries which included three teenage passengers.
On December 6, 2017, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the drivers of a Chrysler PT Cruiser and a possible Chrysler Sebring, were involved in a dispute over driving behavior as they were driving westbound on Los Feliz Boulevard from Riverside Drive. As they reached the intersection of Tica Drive and Los Feliz Boulevard, the Sebring cut off the PT Cruiser and stopped in front of the Pt Cruiser. To avoid a collision, the PT Cruiser swerved to the left, onto eastbound Los Feliz Boulevard traffic, and became involved in a head-on-collision with an Infiniti G35. The driver of the Sebring fled the scene after the collision, failed to stop to render aid or identify themselves since they influenced the collision.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene, where they transported five patients from the scene of the collision to a local hospital, one patient from the PT Cruiser and 4-patients from the Infiniti. Four of the patients sustained severe injuries, however, they were not life threatening. One of the teenage patients suffered severe head trauma, and the patient is in critical condition, however, in stable condition.
The driver of the possible 2000’s Chrysler Sebring was a four door and white, and the driver is described as a male White.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
