Press Release Attempted Homicide Suspect Wanted
On November 22th, 2017, at approximately 5:15pm, Menlo Park Officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the marshland area between Bayfront Expressway and University Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a single victim with a numerous gun shots wounds to legs, arms and torso. The victim is a 29 year old resident of Menlo Park, who was transported to Stanford Hospital and is listed in stable condition.
The Menlo Park Police Detectives were called out to the scene and immediately started interviewing witnesses. During the course of the investigation we have identified the suspect in this shooting as 24 year old Dagoberto Franco-Penaloza (also known as Gustavo Torres). Franco-Penaloza has ties to Menlo Park and East Palo and is to be considered armed and dangerous. Menlo Park Police have obtained a $11 Million dollar warrant for Franco-Penaloza’s arrest.
