***SCAM ALERT***
The Madison Police Department has received several reports of businesses and residences getting telephone calls from an individual claiming to be a representative from Georgia Power. The caller is stating that the recipient's "Georgia Power" bill is overdue. The caller will then ask for a Green Dot card with a specified amount of money loaded on the card to pay the overdue "Georgia Power" balance. THIS IS A SCAM! The real Georgia Power would never solicit payment in this manner.
