...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM MONDAY EVENING TO MIDNIGHT EST TUESDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow will develop later tonight and persist through Tuesday. Along with gusty winds and blowing snow, plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the morning commute on Tuesday. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches are expected, with localized amounts in excess of one foot possible.

* WHERE...Leelanau, Benzie, Grand Traverse and Manistee Counties.

* WHEN...From 10 PM Monday evening to midnight EST Tuesday night.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will cause area of blowing and drifting snow.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy lake effect snow and blowing snow means significant amounts of lake effect snow are forecast that will make travel very hazardous. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
