Winter Storm Warning until 06:00PM Wednesday

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM EST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Travel will be very difficult to impossible, including during the commute on Tuesday and Wednesday. Snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches by midday Tuesday, then an additional 5 to 10 inches Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday. Storm total snowfall will be between 7 to 15 inches by late Wednesday afternoon.

* WHERE...Northern Oneida, Onondaga, Madison and Southern Oneida Counties.

* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 6 PM EST Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first portion of the storm will bring a period of light to moderate snow tonight. There will be a lull in the snow late Tuesday morning, before an arctic frontal boundary moves through bringing snow squalls Tuesday afternoon, then periods of heavy lake effect snow Tuesday night and Wednesday. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow late Tuesday night and especially on Wednesday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
