Police Arrest Suspect Communicating and Exchanging Child Pornography with a Minor
The Los Gatos Monte Sereno Police Department arrested Shahriyar Mohammed Reza, 26 year-old resident of the City of Santa Clara, on charges of unlawful communication with a minor, possession of child pornography, arranging to meet a minor for sex acts, and causing a minor to send harmful matter over the internet.
An investigation revealed that the suspect befriended the minor victim through an online social media communication application. The suspect requested illicit images from the victim and made attempts to meet with the victim to solicit lewd and lascivious conduct. The Department collaborated with resources from the San Jose Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) and continued the investigation which lead to the identification of Reza.
On December 7, 2017, Los Gatos Monte Sereno Police Detectives, San Jose Police Department ICAC Task Force, and Santa Clara Police Department Officers arrested Reza without incident in front of his residence in the 3700 block of Lillick Drive in Santa Clara, CA. Reza was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for PC 311.11 (A)- Possession of Child Pornography, PC 647.6 (A)(1)- Annoy and Molest a Minor, PC 288.3 (A)- Communicate with a Minor to Commit a Felony, and PC 288.4 (B)- Arranging to Meet a Minor.
