Good Tuesday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Monday, 12/11/17.

-FM 1585 at Lovebird Rd, Ropesville: Warrant Service. A deputy responded to a call related to a female walking in the area and the caller requested deputies check her welfare. The individual was located and found to have a felony warrant. The subject was placed under arrest for the warrant and transported to the jail without incident.

-2400 blk Mockingbird Ln, Levelland: Loose Dogs. A deputy responded to the area related to a complaint of dogs running loose. Contact was made with a resident where the dogs were located.

-2300 blk Ellis, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. A deputy was dispatched to meet with an individual regarding possible activity in an abandoned trailer. The area was checked and was placed on a close patrol. Deputies will continue to monitor the area.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Civil Issue. A deputy met with a complainant regarding an eviction process. Civil remedies were advised.

-Hwy 114 near Spade Ranch, Smyer: Vehicle Crash. A deputy responded to assist at the scene of a vehicle crash. A motorist struck a deer on the highway. DPS troopers arrived and conducted the crash investigation.

-4000 blk Owl Rd, Ropesville: Burglary. A deputy was dispatched to a residence regarding a burglary of a building. Information for a report was taken and the matter is under investigation.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, civil process service, and investigative follow-up activities.

Jail population as of 12/12/17 at 0800 hours: 46 in Hockley County, 5 to be processed, 8 out of county.
