Lucy, a 12 year old German Shepherd, will become an Honorary K-9 for the South Pasadena Police Department. Lucy suffers from the degenerative disease Degenerative Myelopathy, a disease more common in German Shepherd breeds.
Lucy became a member of the Angelats family after being rescued from a German Shepherd Rescue. Loved by all members of the Angelats family, Lucy took to 8 year-old Sofia Angelats. Sofia made a request that Lucy become an Honorary K-9 of the South Pasadena Police Department.
To help Lucy maneuver through our city, the Angelats equipped Lucy with a wheel chair. Lucy can be seen walking the streets of South Pasadena with young Sofia and other family members making friends along the way. Sofia and Lucy will become honorary members of the South Pasadena Police Department. A ceremony will take place at the South Pasadena Police Department on Wednesday, December 13th at 11:00 am.
