Corona PD Awarded $54,000 ABC Grant
Corona, CA– The Corona Police Department was selected by the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control Grant Assistance Program (GAP) to receive grant funding of $54,175 for the fiscal year of 2017/2018 to assist in ABC regulation programs.
The program is designed to put bad operators out of business, keep alcohol away from minors, and bring penalties such as fines, suspensions, or revocations against businesses that violate the law. The funds will be used to reduce the number of alcoholic beverage sales to minors, obviously intoxicated patrons, illegal solicitations of alcohol, and other criminal activities such as the sale and possession of illegal drugs.
The grants awarded by ABC this fiscal year will provide resources for several police agencies. This state and local partnership results in a more effective use of human resources, a reduction in crime, and a more efficient use of taxpayer funds. The GAP Program has distributed over $20 million to local law enforcement to combat alcohol-related crime.
If anyone has any questions about the programs utilized or needs information about rules and regulations, please feel free to contact Officer Robert Slane at 951-736-2383 or [email protected].
