Good Wednesday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Tuesday, 12/12/17.

-FM 168 at Koala Rd, Smyer: Vehicle Fire. Deputies were dispatched to a vehicle fire along the roadway in the area. On arrival the fire had been extinguished.

-US 84 at FM 2130, Anton: Disturbance. Deputies were notified of a disturbance observed by a motorist. The caller stated individuals were involved in an altercation in a vehicle traveling through Hockley County from Lubbock County. Information was forwarded to appropriate agencies in Lamb County and the area was checked. The vehicle was not located.

-3900 blk Alaska Rd, Levelland: Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at a residence in the area. While speaking with all parties no offenses were reported. The situation was handled by separation and information was collected.

-Hwy 114 at FM 2378, Smyer: Reckless Driver. Deputies responded to the area related to a reported reckless driver. The vehicle was not located.

-FM 168 at Deer Rd, Smyer: Suspicious Activity. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a vehicle in the area. One individual was located and was cited, and released, for a minor misdemeanor violation.

-3700 blk W. Houston, Levelland: Civil Issue. A deputy was notified of a complaint related to a possible injury. The complaint was investigated and no criminal violations occurred. Civil remedies were advised to parties.

-FM 303 at Rawhide Rd, Sundown: Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to a vehicle crash in the area. A motorist struck a deer along the roadway. DPS Troopers arrived and completed the crash investigation.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 12/13/17 at 0800 hours: 51 in Hockley County, 2 to be processed, 8 out of county.
