Suspect who fired and struck a Moreno Valley PD vehicle arrested.
On December 12, 2017, a suspect was identified in the shooting of an occupied black and white Moreno Valley Police Department patrol car. This shooting occurred on December 11, 2017, near the intersection of Cactus Avenue and Graham Street. This incident was partially captured on the city of Moreno Valley’s City-Wide Camera System. Today, about 3:45 pm, the suspect’s vehicle was spotted by officers at the intersection of Elsworth Street and Alessandro Blvd. in Moreno Valley. MVPD Officers stopped the vehicle and detained the driver, Jacob Gonzalez, age 23 of Hesperia. Based on the investigation, Gonzalez was arrested and booked for attempt murder of a police officer.

On Monday, December 11, 2017, around 4:00 PM, a Moreno Valley Police car was traveling in the area of Cactus and Graham when it was shot at by an unknown person. A single bullet struck the vehicle. The officer was not injured in this incident.
