POP Unit Conducts Anti-Theft Detail, Arrests 12

On December 11th and December 12th the Anderson Police Department Problem Oriented Policing Unit conducted a two day operation targeting theft related crimes. Officers conducted a series of under cover details, probation searches, attempt warrant services, and pro-active patrols throughout Anderson.

On the first day of the operation three officers in plain clothes teamed up with Walmart Loss Prevention agents targeting theft related suspects.

At about 7:10 PM officers attempted to detain two theft suspects, however they fled to a waiting vehicle. The officers attempted to contact the subjects at the vehicle, however the driver, later identified as Adam Lembcke, age 28, of Redding, put the car in reverse and quickly accelerated away from the officers.

A marked patrol vehicle was called in to conduct a stop on Lembcke and the theft suspects, however Lembcke failed to yield to the officers emergency lights and a pursuit ensued. Lembcke attempted to evade officers by speeding, failing to stop at a red light, and crossing into the opposing lane of traffic.

Officers quickly terminated the pursuit due to Lembcke’s reckless driving and the danger it placed onto the general public.

The Walmart operation resulted in 10 subjects being arrested on charges varying from commercial burglary, drug possession, and several felony warrant arrests.

Jordan Humphrey, age 34, of Igo, was arrested for burglary, carrying a concealed dirk/dagger on his person, and a violation of his probation.

Scott Swain, age 22, of Redding, was arrested during the Walmart operation on an outstanding felony warrant.

Sabrina Baca, age 38, of Anderson, was arrested during the Walmart operation on an outstanding felony warrant.

On day two of the operation a total of fifteen probation searches were conducted in the City of Anderson. The probation sweep targeted probationers whose original charge involved some type of theft.

Of the fifteen offenders visited, ten were found to not be in compliance with the terms and conditions of their probation, with most of the violations being offenders who have moved and failed to update their current address with the Probation Department. Probation violation cases will be submitted to the Shasta County District Attorney for those offenders.

One of the probation offenders, Nicholis Hensher, age 24, of Anderson, was arrested for possession of heroin for sales, and a felony violation of his probation.

Later in the evening on the second day officers located the vehicle that had fled from them the prior evening parked in the 1700 block of Bruce St. Officers contacted the driver, Adam LEMBCKE, and found that he was the same driver from the pursuit. LEMBCKE also admitted to officers at the scene that he was the driver from the pursuit. LEMBCKE was booked into the Shasta County Jail on charges of felony evading a peace officer, evading while driving the wrong way on the roadway, resisting/delaying a peace officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Anderson Police Department will continue to utilize it’s POP Team and Patrol Officers in new and innovative ways to combat crime in our community and hold offenders responsible for their actions.
