WATCH COMMANDER’S DAILY LOG

Location: 1500 E Plaza Blvd
Type: Felony Warrant/Officer Injured
Synopsis: On 12-13-17, at about 1204 hours, officers were investigating an auto theft that just occurred with suspect description. While in the area, a detective saw a subject matching the description and called for a marked patrol unit. An officer arrived and contacted the male, a 36 year old transient. A second plain clothed officer arrived to assist. A records check revealed the suspect had a felony warrant for auto theft. The suspect suddenly stood up and attempted to flee which resulted in a physical altercation. The officers and the suspect ended up falling to the ground. After a brief struggle, the suspect was taken into custody. As a result of the struggle, the plain clothed officer suffered a scrape to his knee and the patrol officer injured his ribs. The suspect was not injured. The day shift lieutenant was briefed.

Type: Structure Fire
Synopsis: Officers responded to assist NCFD and CVFD reference a residential fire at the listed address. The fire was started by unattended food cooking in the kitchen and spread to the attic. There were no injuries to the residents or pets. A command post was established and officers assisted with traffic and crowd control. Several media outlets were on scene. A statement was provided by NCFD. The NPT II Lt. was advised.
