Good Friday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Thursday, 12/14/17.

-1400 blk Monaco Rd, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to a complaint of loose cattle along the roadway. The cattle were secured and the owner arrived to assist.

-500 blk Travis, Levelland: Criminal Trespass. A deputy was dispatched to meet with a complainant regarding individuals entering a vacant residence. No one was at the location when deputies arrived. The area was placed on close patrol.

-500 blk Avenue G, Levelland: Property Dispute. Deputies met with parties related to a dispute over property. No offenses were reported and the matter was handled by involved parties.

-100 blk John Dupree, Levelland: Assault. A deputy met with a complainant regarding a reported assault that occurred several days prior at a location outside of Levelland. The complainant wanted the information documented but did not want to pursue criminal charges related to the matter.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Forgery. A deputy spoke with a complainant regarding a possible forgery offense. The reporting person was out of town and will meet with the deputy to turn over any evidence and file the criminal report.

-600 blk E. 8th St, Anton: Assist DPS. Deputies were dispatched to assist DPS with a warrant service at a residence in the area. One individual was arrested for a felony warrant and transported to the jail.

-Hwy 114 at Veretto Rd, Levelland: Hit and Run. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a vehicle crash where one of the drivers fled the area. DPS troopers are conducting the crash investigation.

-200 blk Avenue H, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy was dispatched to assist on an alarm call in the area. The building was checked and found to be secured.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 12/15/17 at 0800 hours: 49 in Hockley County, 3 to be processed, 8 out of county.
