Suspicious Fires in Western Hunterdon County Under Investigation
Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, Chief of Detectives John J. Kuczynski, West Amwell Township Police Department OIC DSG. Edward Skillman, and Lambertville City Police Director Bruce Cocuzza announced that the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office, West Amwell Township Police Department, Lambertville City Police Department, and the New Jersey State Fire Marshal’s Office are actively investigating numerous suspicious fires that have occurred in Hunterdon County.
On November 13, 2017, a structure fire occurred at the ABC Supply Company, 1496 Route 179, Lambertville, NJ. An investigation by the Hunterdon County Arson Task Force, West Amwell Police Department, Lambertville City Police Department and New Jersey State Fire Marshal’s Office led to the determination that the fire was intentionally set.
On November 30, 2017, a structure fire occurred on Buttonwood Street, Lambertville, NJ. The fire is under investigation and has been deemed suspicious.
On December 13, 2017, a structure fire occurred at 130 North Franklin Street, Lambertville, NJ. An investigation by the Hunterdon County Arson Task Force, Lambertville City Police Department and New Jersey State Fire Marshal’s Office led to the determination that the fire was intentionally set.
All of the buildings involved in the fires were unoccupied structures typically used as warehouses and garages.
Prosecutor Kearns added, “Citizens should be aware of their surrounding and report any suspicious activity to 911. Anyone with information regarding these investigations are urged to contact the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit at (908) 788-1129.”
