Good Monday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 12/15/17, through Sunday, 12/17/17.

12/15/17

-6800 blk Maine Rd, Anton: Welfare Check. A deputy was dispatched to check the welfare of an individual at a residence in the area. The caller stated the individual has not been heard from in several days. Deputies met with the resident and requested he contact family members.

-3100 blk Boston Rd, Levelland: Emergency Detention. Deputies responded to a call regarding an individual suffering from a possible mental health crisis. A deputy trained as a Mental Health Officer assisted and the individual was transported to an area hospital for assessment. The individual was later transferred to another facility for further evaluation.

-FM 2646 near Hwy 114, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a loose bull and a donkey. The owner was contacted and the animals were secured.

-6100 blk Maine Rd, Anton: Welfare Check. A deputy was notified of an individual requesting to speak with him about an issue involving a possible threat from Lubbock. The deputy responded to check the welfare of the individual. He was found to be at the residence and believed someone was outside the house. The area was checked and on one was located around the residence. The area is on close patrol.

12/16/17

-FM 1585 at Foster Rd, Ropesville: Vehicle Crash. A deputy was dispatched to a single vehicle crash in the area. DPS troopers arrived on scene and conducted the crash investigation. Deputies assisted as needed with traffic control.

-1600 blk Avenue T, Levelland: Theft. A deputy met with a complainant who advised a water heater was stolen from the property. The scene was processed and a report was taken for the theft offense. The matter is under investigation.

-600 blk N. West Ave, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. A deputy responded to a call of a vehicle crash in the area. DPS troopers arrived on scene to conduct the crash investigation. The deputy assisted as needed at the scene.

-100 blk Avenue Y, Levelland: Recover Stolen Vehicle. A deputy met with individuals related to a stolen vehicle recovery. The vehicle was confirmed stolen from Lubbock and was towed from the area. Reports related to the agency assist are pending.

-Hwy 114 near Cochran County: Reckless Driver. A deputy was notified of a reckless driver traveling toward Cochran County. Information was forwarded to appropriate agencies.

-US 62/82 at Oxen Rd, Ropesville: Disturbance. A deputy responded to a reported disturbance in the area. Parties advised of a possible assault that occurred in Lubbock County. No offenses occurred in Hockley County, and the individual wanting a criminal report was informed of the appropriate agency to file with. Parties were separated and released to other family members. Supplemental reports are pending.

-2000 blk Mustang, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies were dispatched to assist Levelland PD with a disturbance at a residence in the area. Deputies assisted as needed and later cleared the scene.

-200 blk Cypress, Levelland: Disturbance. Deputies were requested to assist Levelland PD with a possible disturbance and juvenile issue. Deputies assisted as needed and cleared the scene.

-500 blk Tim, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. A deputy was dispatched to a residence related to an open door. The resident was contacted and no issues were identified.

-Hwy 114 at Alamo, Levelland: Reckless Driver. A deputy was notified of a possible reckless driver traveling into Levelland on Hwy 114. The vehicle was located and the driver was contacted. No offenses were observed and the individual was released from the scene.

-100 blk Leon Rd, Smyer: Suspicious Activity. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to smoke behind a residence. The homeowner was contacted and advised deputies there was a controlled burn the previous day that started again. The fire was extinguished while deputies were on scene.

12/17/17

-1800 blk Guywire Rd, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was notified of a suspicious vehicle traveling on a dead end road in the area. Information was collected from the complainant and a close patrol was placed on the area. Deputies have a vehicle description and will attempt to identify individuals.

-2100 blk Hummingbird Rd, Smyer: Disturbance. A deputy responded to a reported disturbance at a residence in the area. Parties were separated prior to the arrival of the deputy. All parties stated the disturbance was verbal and no offenses were reported.

-FM 2646 at Deer Rd, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. A deputy responded to the area related to a vehicle crash. DPS troopers responded and assumed the crash investigation. Deputies assisted on scene as needed and cleared the scene.

-2700 blk Belvedere Rd, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to a vehicle crash in the area. DPS trooper arrived on scene and conducted the crash investigation.

-Grant St at 5th St, Smyer: Shots Fired. Deputies responded to the area related to a complaint of shots being fired. The area was checked and no individuals were located. The area will continue to be on close patrol.

-2000 blk Mustang, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies responded to assist Levelland PD with a reported disturbance. Deputies assisted as needed and cleared the scene.

-Alamo Rd at Alaska Rd, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a suspicious vehicle parked along the roadway. The area was checked and the vehicle as not located.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 12/17/17 at 0800 hours: 53 in Hockley County, 8 out of county.
