Home Invasion Arrest in Nuevo

On December 18, 2017, shortly after 10:15 AM, Perris Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to a reported home invasion robbery at the 22000 block of Ramona Ave. in Nuevo. Deputies learned that a Hispanic male adult had forcibly entered an elderly female’s residence and took her white 2017 Mercedes 300 convertible.

Perris deputies located the stolen vehicle on Nuevo Rd. near Evans Rd. The suspect driver, 20-year-old Israel Meza of Nuevo, refused to stop for marked Sheriff patrol vehicles and a short vehicle pursuit ensued. The pursuit came to an end when the suspect crashed the stolen Mercedes into a cinder block wall along Evans Rd. Meza attempted to flee on foot, but was quickly apprehended by pursuing deputies.

Anyone with information on this investigation is encouraged to call Deputy Berry at the Perris Sheriff’s Station, (951) 210-1000.
