Three Arrested in Morgan Hill Shooting
On 12/19/17, at 12:15 pm, MHPD officers responded to a shooting at a residence in the 17000 block of Calle Mazatan Ave. in Morgan Hill. Upon arrival, officers located a 62 year old male victim with a gunshot wound to his upper torso. Officers provided medical aid to the victim and obtained a preliminary statement and suspect descriptions. A nearby elementary school was asked to shelter in place while the crime scene was stabilized. Immediately after the shooting, responding Morgan Hill Police officers located a vehicle matching the description on southbound 101 near Tennant Ave. Officers conducted a high-risk vehicle stop and took three male suspects into custody without incident; 20 and 21 year old Morgan Hill residents, and a 25 year old San Jose resident. A firearm was also recovered from the suspect vehicle.
This shooting does not appear to be a random act.
The victim was transported to San Jose Regional Hospital for treatment.
