Today, December 22th, 2017, the East Side Sewer Relief Project on Whitman Boulevard has progressed to the address of 200 Whitman Boulevard and there is NO TRAFFIC THRU at this address. The road is completely closed there. All addresses higher than 200 Whitman Boulevard will need to access from the east (Abbe Road.) All addresses lower than 200 Whitman Boulevard will need to access from the west (Gulf Road.)
The intersection of Whitman Boulevard and Canterbury Drive, along with the 100 block of Whitman Boulevard is now open for emergency and bus traffic, but remains closed to through traffic. The intersection of Canterbury Drive and Windsor Drive no longer has lane restrictions and is back to normal traffic flow.
The contractor will be off for the Holidays and will return January 2, 2018.
Gulf Road remains closed to through traffic and has a reduced speed limit of 25 MPH between Hilliard Road and Burns Road. Watch out for slow moving heavy construction vehicles that operate on Gulf Road between the Waste Water Plant and Whitman Boulevard.
