Motorists are reminded to avoid Makaloa St., between Kaheka and Poni Sts., as Board of Water Supply (BWS) crews continue to repair a broken main. The break is forcing closure of the road next to 1610 Makaloa St. Motorists are reminded to avoid the area if possible or use alternate traffic routes.
The BWS has stationed a water wagon in a parking area next to 1655 Makaloa St. and placed a spigot on a hydrant on Kaheka St., next to the fire station, for the three services who will remain without water during the repair of the broken 8-inch main. The break was reported shortly before 6:30 a.m.
An update will be issued when the situation changes.
