Lake Effect Snow Warning until 05:00PM Wednesday

...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 5 PM EST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Travel will be very difficult to impossible at times. A period of snow will impact the area this evening into Monday morning, bringing 4 to 8 inches of snow. Then, periods of heavy lake effect snow continue through Wednesday, bringing an additional 15 to 30 inches of snow.

* WHERE...Northern Oneida County.

* WHEN...From 9 PM this evening to 5 PM EST Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow. Highest winds are expected during the day Monday. Snow may fall at rates greater than 2 inches per hour at times. Scattered power outages are also possible. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Lake Effect Snow Warning means significant amounts of lake effect snow are forecast that will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
