Modesto, CA – An early morning shooting downtown leaves one Modesto man dead and another man injured.
Early this morning, dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call regarding a shooting in a parking lot near the intersection of 10th and “I” Streets. When emergency personnel arrived, they found 26-year-old Jimmy McAny who had been shot multiple times. McAny was rushed to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. A second victim, a 22-year-old man arrived at the hospital by private transportation. He was treated for his non-life threatening injuries and released.
The early investigation indicates McAny was amongst a group of individuals in a verbal altercation with a second group of individuals when the shooting took place. A motive for the shooting, as well as suspect(s) involved, is still under investigation.
