On December 24, 2017, at approximately 5:43 p.m., officers from the Torrance Police Department responded to a major injury traffic collision involving a motorcycle and vehicle on Hawthorne Boulevard and Emerald Street in the City of Torrance.
On arrival, officers discovered that a 2003 Honda Accord Sedan, driven by a 52-year-old female resident from the City of Hawthorne had collided with a 2007 Honda CBR600 motorcycle, ridden by a 52-year-old male resident from the City of Torrance.
The initial investigation indicates both vehicles were travelling northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard approaching Emerald Street when the collision occurred. According to statements and physical evidence at the scene it appears the Honda Sedan was attempting to make a right turn onto eastbound Emerald Street from an improper lane position when it collided with the motorcyclist.
